Group tutoring:
I offer group tutoring at discounted rates based on the total number of students. Please email me or fill out a contact form to schedule.
Scheduling & Cancellations
At least 24 hours’ notice is required to schedule, reschedule, or cancel a session.
If the student cancels or misses a session without 24 hours’ notice, the student will be charged for the full length of the session.
If the tutor cancels or misses a session without 24 hours’ notice, the student will receive a free makeup session of the same length as the scheduled session.
The student will be charged for the full length of the scheduled session even if they are late.
If the student is over 15 minutes late, the session will be canceled and count as a missed/no-show session.
If the student schedules a weekly recurring session and cancels or misses tutoring three weeks in row, they will forfeit their weekly spot.
Session Preparation & Tips
Before the first session, the student should email the course syllabus and schedule. If there is a public course website, please also send the website link.
Students may be asked to send specific problems they wish to cover 1–2 days prior to the tutoring session.
Reading relevant sections of the textbook and attempting homework problems prior to meeting will greatly increase the effectiveness of tutoring.
Tutoring should be supplemental to self study. As a guideline, UC Davis recommends that students study for 3–4 hours outside of class, on average, per 1 hour spent in class. For example, if a student is taking a 4-credit hour calculus course, they should be studying 12–16 hours per week outside of class.
